Chili with Beans

Serves 8

2 medium onions, chopped
4 stalks celery, thinly sliced
1/2 C no-salt-added catsup
2 tsp dry mustard
2 cans (20 oz each) no-salt-added tomatoes
2 cans (20 oz each) no-salt-added red kidney beans
1 can (20 oz) Great Northern beans
2 T chili powder, or to taste

Sauté onions until translucent. Stir in remaining ingredients except chili powder. Add chili powder by teaspoons, stirring and tasting after each addition until the desired zippiness is reached. Simmer for 30 minutes.


  • Pinto beans may be substituted for part or all of the kidney beans and or the Great Northern beans.
