Melba Raspberry Sauce
Serves 8
2 pkg frozen unsweetened raspberries
1/4 C sugar
1 T kirsch
Thaw berries and rub through a sieve to remove seeds. Mix in sugar and kirsch.
Suggestions:
- Artificial sweetener may be substituted for the sugar.
- Fresh berries in season may be used.
- Melba Sauce is best served immediately, but it may be chilled for a short while.
- Serve over strawberries, raspberries, peaches, pears, or citrus.
- Serve over plain cake, angel food cake, rice pudding, frozen low-fat yogurt, crêpes, or French toast.
