Apple-Pear Crisp

Serves 8

1-1/2 lb Granny Smith apples, unpeeled, cored, and diced
3/4 Ib Bosc pears, unpeeled, cored, and diced
1 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp nutmeg
2 T unsweetened orange juice
1/4 C raisins
1/3 C maple syrup
1 C rolled oats
1/3 C whole-wheat flour
2 T canola oil

Toss apples, pears, spices, juice, raisins, and 1 T maple syrup; spread evenly in a 1-1/2 qt baking dish. Mix oatmeal, flour, and oil with a fork until blended. Mix in remaining maple syrup. Sprinkle over fruit mixture.

Bake at 350° for 35 minutes, or until topping is lightly browned. Serve warm.

Suggestion:

  • Bartlett pears may be substituted if Bosc pears are unavailable.
